Antique Sharpening Wheel Stolen
Antique Sharpening Wheel Stolen
Police report that sometime between December 10 and 17, someone stole a stone antique sharpening wheel from the yard at 46 Eden Hill Rd in Newtown near the Easton town line.
Patrol Officer Richard Robinson said this week that it probably took at least two people to carry off the disc-shaped object, which likely weighed more than 100 pounds.
The wheel was on display in the yard as a lawn ornament.
The monetary value of the object is unclear. Officer Robinson said the wheelâs owner told him the object has great sentimental value.
The wheel was displayed on edge within a support structure. The gray-colored stone wheel is about 30 inches in diameter and is about 2½ inches thick.
Whoever took the stone wheel probably planned to do so, because it took some effort to remove the object, he said.
Officer Robinson asked anyone with information on who stole the wheel to contact him at the police station at 426-5841.
