Mystery Stink

The large crowd that packed into the Cyrenius H. Booth Library for Wednesday’s Legisaltive Council meeting was forced to put up with an unpleasant odor.

At press time, town officials were trying to determine the cause of the stink. Library Director Janet Woycik figured it had to do with the heating problems, which have plagued the building since it first opened two years ago. But others guessed it was something else. Jan Andras said it smelled like someone was cooking cabbage. First Selectman Herb Rosenthal said the stench was starting to make him feel sick by the time 11 pm rolled around.
