Saturday Morning Winter Hike At Kellogg Center

DERBY — For anyone who is sick of being stuck inside the house this winter, the staff at Kellogg Environmental Center is planning a Saturday morning hike.

Participants will hike through the winter landscape of the Kellogg Estate and Osbornedale State Park, while looking for signs of life and discovering how trees and wildlife adapt to winter’s harsh environmental conditions.

The hike will take place on Saturday, January 20, from 10 to 11:30 am. Weather may be cold and snowy, so dress accordingly.

The program is free to the public and registration is required. To register or for more information, call the environmental center at 734-2513 Tuesday through Saturday between 9 am and 4:30 pm. Kellogg Environmental Center, operated by the DEP’s Office of Communications and Education, is at 500 Hawthorne Avenue (immediately off Route 34; watch for signs).
