ST PETERSBURG, FLA. â Myers Antiques Auction Gallery will conduct its largest auction ever January 14â16, featuring 1,200-plus lots of fine Asian and European antiques dating from the Sixteenth through early Twentieth centuries.
Significant items acquired from private collections and estates in the Northeast and Florida will be showcased, such as a Sixteenth Century carving of the Madonna and Angel, as well as other early carvings, early delft and silver from Augsburg, Germany, that come from the estate of Jacques and Ruth Whitfield. Also included in the sale are objets dâart from the Thomas Moran-Condie Lamb estate in East Hampton, N.Y. Bronzes and Nineteenth Century E. Fanfani paintings from Vincent Carpanzanoâs New York estate, as well as carved ivory miniatures and other fine antiques from the New England estate of Admiral William S. Sims, commander of the US Fleet during World War I, will be offered.
Friday, January 14, presents lots 1â375, offering a wide variety of Asian decorative arts including a large collection of woodblock prints by Ando Hiroshige, Natori Shunsen, Yoshida Hiroshi, Kawase Hasui, Kasamata Shiro and Koitsu; Chinese and Japanese porcelain, cloisonne, ivory, silver, furniture, pottery and other fine objects.
Saturday, January 15, presents lots 376â801; European decorative arts featuring a wide array of fine antique porcelain, early delft pottery, glass, silver and many objects of vertu.
Sunday, January 16, concludes the three-day auction with lots 802â1,200, featuring more European decorative arts, Oriental carpets, such as a Nineteenth Century 9- by 12-foot Oushak, clocks, fine art, furniture, sculpture, miniature portraits on ivory and fine jewelry.
