Jack Santomauro

Jack Santomauto, 84, of Bridgeport, a retired employee of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp in Stratford, died on January 4 at St Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport.

He was the brother of Rosa Santomauro of Newtown.

Born in New York City on July 23, 1916, he was the son of the late Francisco and Eugenia Santomauro. Mr Santomauro moved to Italy at the age of 7 and lived there for 23 years. In 1947 he returned to the United States and resided in Bridgeport for the rest of his life. He was a veteran of the Italian Army in World War II.

Survivors also include his beloved wife, Rosalia (Pollani) Santomauro; one brother, Salvatore Santomauro of New York; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held on January 6 in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 449 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, and in St Margaret’s Shrine, Park Avenue, Bridgeport, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment was in St Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
