Still Life Demo At SCAN Meeting

The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will welcome Bob Boger of Trumbull at its next meeting on Wednesday, January 9, at 7:30 pm. The demonstration of painting an still life with oils will take place at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street (at the flagpole). The public is invited, free of charge.

Bob Boger is a graduate of The Paier College of Art where he studied with Dean Keller, Ken Davies, Rudolph Zallinger and Charles Sovek. After graduating with majors in commercial illustration and painting, he returned to Paier as a graphics instructor.

After college, Mr Boger worked as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer, winning numerous awards of distinction from Connecticut and New York Art Director’s Clubs. In 1987 he established his own graphic design firm, Boger Associates. The firm delivered high levels of expertise in the fields Corporate Communications and Consumer Promotion for over 19 years.

Mr Boger continues to study art, accumulating a wealth of information on color, technique, composition and theory.  He merges his intuition as a natural painter with the background of an academician and works in oil and acrylic. Recently he taught at The Bob Boroski School of Art in Shelton.

Mr Boger is a member of SCAN and taught a popular oil painting class last fall and is scheduled to teach another class starting in mid January.

Light refreshments will be served. Call 426-6654 for additional information.
