Eileen M. Nelson

Forty-Year Newtown Resident

Eileen M. Nelson, 87, of Newtown died December 27 in Danbury Health Care Center. Mrs Nelson was the wife of the late Arthur O. Nelson. She was born in Waterbury on October 26, 1920, a daughter John J. and Ethel (White) Murphy.

Mrs Nelson was a graduate of Wilby High School. She was then employed by Southern New England Telephone as an operator until her retirement. She was a resident of Newtown for more than 40 years and was a communicant of St Mary’s Church in Bethel.

Mrs Nelson is survived by her brother-in-law, Charles Nelson of Cambridge, Mass.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St Mary’s Church, Bethel, on January 3. Interment followed in St Mary’s Cemetery.

Arrangements were in care of the Honan Funeral Home, Newtown.
