Connecticut PTA Annual Convention

WATERBURY — The Connecticut PTA will hold its 101st Annual Convention this year at the Sheraton Hotel Waterbury in Waterbury Friday and Saturday, April 6 and 7.

This year’s program is entitled “Parents + Involvement = Successful Children.” Many workshops will be held during the two-day event, including Getting People Involved in PTA, Bully-Proofing Your Child, Working with School Administrators, Communicating with Your Child’s Teacher, and Creating a Culturally Diverse PTA.

Mac Bledsoe, father of New England Patriots football great Drew Bledsoe, will be a special guest at the convention. He will be the convention’s keynote speaker as will as partake in two workshops – Five Easy Rules of Parenting and Messages of Love. Mr Bledsoe is known for his inspiring and insightful speeches. He is the creator of the “Parenting with Dignity” program.

The cost of the convention for one day is $50 and $65 for two days for PTA members before March 6. Non PTA members may attend at a higher rate. For more information, contact the Connecticut PTA at 203/281-6617 or CTPTA@aol.com. A Web site is also available at www.ctpta.org.
