Helen May (Knowles) Lowry

Helen May (Knowles) Lowry, 67, of Newtown and Monroe, beloved wife of David W. Lowry, died January 4 in her home.

Born in Quincy, Mass., she was a Newtown/Monroe resident for 40 years. Mrs Lowry earned a bachelor of education degree from Boston University, was a former teacher in Baltimore County, Md., and was a saleswoman with Avon Products.

In addition to her husband, survivors include her loving children, Amy Kason of Derby, Davida Lowry of Shelton and David H. Lowry of Newtown; a brother, Howard Knowles of Union, Me.; a sister, Amy Beebee of Brockton, Mass; and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Elizabeth Pratt.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 300 Research Parkway, Meriden, CT 06450.

Arrangements were by the Redgate, Wilmot, West and Goulding Funeral Home, Monroe.
