Laurie Lenahan
ROXBURY — Laurie Jean (Austin) Lenahan, 58, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024 surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Laurie was born on September 27, 1966, in Milford. As the heart and soul of her family, Laurie was known for her immense compassion and infectious laughter. She embodied courage and inspiration, always demonstrating how determination can help one overcome life’s many challenges. Her greatest joys in life were her beloved husband, Kurt, and their cherished son, Owen. Working together Laurie and Kurt were committed to the success of their business, Lenahan Land Clearing and Grinding Inc, where Laurie skillfully managed the Lenahan Mulch Yard, ensuring that everything operated smoothly and efficiently.
In her downtime, Laurie found solace and happiness at the beach, creating countless cherished memories with her close-knit beach crew. She also had a profound love for music and embraced every opportunity to travel with family and friends, whether it was camping trips, following NASCAR, or cheering on her husband’s modified race car team at the track. Laurie had a knack for feeding an army, often whipping up delicious meals for the team with a generosity that knew no bounds.
Laurie’s compassion extended beyond her family; she held a special place in her heart for animals, embodying the love and kindness she shared with all living beings. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in her memory to The Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary, PO Box 3571, Newtown CT 06470, which was near and dear to her heart.
Left to cherish Laurie’s memory are her husband Kurt, son Owen, father Ronald Austin, sister Danielle (Mark) Wiley, father in-law John Lenahan, mother in-law Sharon Lenahan, sisters in-law Kim (Marty) Schmitz and Kelly (James) Lewis, nieces Kari Austin and Shellie Lewis, nephews Jake Austin Ferro and Justin Branfuhr, as well as numerous extended family members and friends who were as close as family.
