Family Nature Walk At

Devil’s Den

WESTON — The Nature Conservancy invites the public to celebrate the new year by enjoying a guided family nature walk at the largest nature preserve in the southwestern part of Connecticut. A free program is being offered on Sunday, January 14, from 1 to 3 pm.

For the program, trained natural history guides Dorothy Abrams and Bob Eppinger will discuss animals and plants at The Den and tell how early Colonists managed the natural resources of the hilly, rocky landscape. Hikers will also be on the lookout for resident birds and other creatures, and for seeds of berries which might provide food for wildlife during the winter.

There is no charge for the program, but reservations are requested. For information, directions, or reservations, call Devil’s Den Preserve at 203/226-4991.
