Coming off a pair of home victories, Newtown High School's girls' basketball team continued its winning ways in a 65-50 triumph over host Mansfield, Mass. in the opener of Mansfield's holiday tournament, on December 27.

Cyleigh Wilson had 16 points, Amy Sapenter dropped in 12, and Emma Magazu had six rebounds and five assists in the win. Newtown fell 64-46 to Bridgewater-Raynham High in the tourney championship game on December 28.

Newtown will host Carmel, N.Y. on Saturday, January 4 at 2 pm. Weston visits on Monday, January 6 for a 7 pm tip off.
