Shannon M. Callahan

Shannon M. Callahan, 47, of Southbury, died November 29 at her home.

She was born in Okinawa, Japan on November 1, 1956, a daughter of the late Martin and Maureen (Kimpton) Callahan. Ms Callahan was a graduate of Newtown High School, Class of 1974, where she was a cheerleader and class officer. She was an artist, having received a bachelor’s degree in fine art from Western Connecticut State University. She then worked in art galleries in New York City.

She is survived by a sister, Ruth Callahan Gustavson of Carterville, Ill., an aunt, and five cousins.

Services were held December 5. Ms Callahan was buried with her paternal grandparents in St Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford. The Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, was in charge of arrangements.
