Motorcycle Found
Police report that a red Honda motorcycle was found abandoned on December 29 on the side of Hanover Road beneath the Interstate 84 overpass. The owner may claim the vehicle by contacting police.
Chevy Off Road
Motorist Adam Prokop, 20, of 105 Brushy Hill Road was driving a 1989 Chevrolet Cavalier northward on Toddy Hill Road about 8 pm December 23, when he lost control of the auto, crossed the road, and went off the southbound road shoulder, coming to rest in a ditch, police said. Prokop was not injured. Police issued him a written warning for failure to drive to the right on a curve.
Botsford Hill Road
Motorist Ronald Durkin, 34, of Danbury, who was driving a 1997 International van southward on Botsford Hill Road about 5 pm December 22, told police that a silver-colored Mercedes sport-utility vehicle, which was traveling northward in the southbound lane near the Housatonic Railroad overpass, collided with his van and then left the scene of the accident. Durkin was not injured. Police ask anyone with information about the accident to contact them.
Rear-Ender
While traveling northward on Cherry Street, near its intersection with Black Cherry Lane about 12:30 pm December 29, motorist Jeffrey Levasseur, 16, of 2 Elana Lane, who was driving a 1998 Mercury Tracer, slowed and was then struck from behind by motorist Patricia Cianci, 29, of Southbury, who was driving a 1994 Isuzu Amigo, police report.
There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Cianci for following too closely Â
Mt Pleasant Mishap
Motorist David Zemper, 32, of Southbury was driving a 1996 Ford Taurus northward on Mt Pleasant Road about 12:18 am December 27, when the Ford hit an object that apparently fell off an unidentified vehicle that was traveling southward, police said.
The southbound vehicle did not stop. Zemper was not injured. Police are investigating.
Intersection Crash
Motorist Gregory McMahon, 55, of West Hartford, who was driving a 1998 Ford Taurus, was stopped at a red traffic signal on westbound Wasserman Way and waiting to turn left onto the Exit 11 on-ramp of Interstate 84 at about 7 pm December 25, when motorist Jason Visokay, 25, of Southford, who was driving a 1992 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck, made a wide right turn off the Exit 11 off-ramp and struck the Ford, police said.
Kathryn McMahon, 16, who was a passenger in the Ford, experienced shoulder pain but declined medical attention, police said.
Police said they charged Visokay with failure to drive to the right and with evading responsibility in connection with the accident.
