Ram Pasture Tree Lighting Begins The Weekend Holiday Events

The 32nd Annual Newtown Tree Lighting Ceremony at Rams Pasture, Friday, December 2, began the weekend of holiday events with songs and cheer.More information about the other holiday related activities planned for the weekend of December 2 to December 4 is available here.The Newtown Bee.

A bit of rain cleared in time for Newtown Chamber of Commerce President Tim Haas and Ram Pasture Tree Lighting Committee Chair Diana Johnson to welcome all in attendance and introduce the night's performances.

The 16th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in Sandy Hook Center is set for Saturday, December 3. The event will begin at 4 pm, leading to the lighting of the Norway spruce at the corner of Washington Avenue and Riverside Road at 6 pm.

The 7th Annual Hawleyville Tree Lighting is set for Sunday, December 4, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm, at Hawleyville Plaza, 23 Barnabas Road. The event will double as a toy drive for The Newtown Fund, a nonprofit volunteer organization that provides assistance to local residents and their families.
