Cub Scout Pack 170 is inviting all boys entering first to fourth grade and their siblings to an ice cream social event on Monday, September 28, at Reed Intermediate School, 3 Trades Lane, from 6:45 to 8 pm.
The event is an opportunity for parents and kids to enjoy some treats and learn more about the year-round activities and development opportunities that Cub Scouts provides.

What a wonderful day for celebrating volunteering we had this past Saturday! The weather was perfect and there was fun and excitement throughout the afternoon at our Ice Cream Social. We connected our community with diverse local organizations, all which run with volunteers.

Cub Scout Pack 170 invites all boys entering first through fourth grade, and siblings, to an ice cream social slated for Thursday, September 12, in the pavilion at Treadwell Park, 39 Philo Curtis Road, from 6 to 7:30 pm.
The event is an opportunity for parents and kids to enjoy some treats and learn more about the opportunities being a Cub Scout provides.
In addition to registering new scouts, Cub Scout Pack 170 will also be reregistering current scouts for the 2013-14 scout year.

The first week of school can be fun, stressful, exciting, nervous and exhilarating all at once, for students, teachers, and parents alike. At the end of the week, everyone needs to unwind, share their stories and — since it is still summer — eat some ice cream.
The folks at Ben’s Lighthouse want to help. They have teamed up with Ferris Acres Creamery to provide free ice cream to anyone who visits Trinity Episcopal Church this Saturday afternoon between 1:30 to 4:30.

Ben’s Lighthouse, an organization dedicated to supporting and uplifting the children of Newtown in the wake of 12/14, will host an ice cream social on Saturday, August 31, from 1:30 to 4:30 pm. The event will be at Trinity Episcopal Church, 36 Main Street in Newtown.
Ferris Acres ice cream will be provided at no charge to attendees. The ice cream will be served by many of Newtown’s dignitaries and celebrities, including teachers, coaches, town leaders, first responders, clergy, medical professionals, and others.
