  • Talarino Named Flagpole Photo Club Lifetime Member

    Jim Talarino, left, was honored on June 18 with an Emeritus Lifetime Membership in recognition of over 25 years of service to the Flagpole Photographers Camera Club. Presenting the award was Club President Mark Ashbolt.

  • ‘My Backyard’ Next Flagpole Photographers Program

    On Thursday, June 18, Flagpole Photographers Camera Club will host a general meeting and photo competition in the lower meeting room of C.H. Booth Library.

    June’s assigned subject is “My Backyard.” Members of the local photography club are to showcase their creativity for capturing various photography of their interpretation of their backyard. There will also be competitions in Digital, Black & White, and Open Color.

  • Photographers’ Favorites On View

    Erik Landegren stands next to his photo, “Portrait Under The Surface,” which won The Bruce Allen Open Print Award at the Flagpole Photographers Camera Club Annual Competition. Mr Landegren picked up four awards during the May 31 event.

  • Tools Of Their Trade: Flagpole Photographers Presenting Cameras, Images At Library

    Flagpole Photographers Camera Club is presenting “The Progression of Photography,” with 19 cameras ranging from a 1930 Kodak Rainbow Hawk-Eye to a 2010 Canon Powershot, at C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street.

  • Flagpole Photographers Programs Update

    This month, Flagpole Photographers will be hosting a unique two-part “Black and White” workshop-seminar photography event on Friday and Saturday, April 11-12. The local photography club will also host a regular monthly meeting, and members are invited to compete in any of four photography competitions.

    On Thursday, March 19, Flagpole Photographers Camera Club will host a general meeting and photo competition.

    March’s assigned subject is “Bridges.” Club members will be challenged to showcase their creativity for capturing various photography of bridges. There will also be competitions in Digital, Black & White and Open Color.

  • ‘Getting To Know Your Camera’

    On Thursday, February 5, Flagpole Photographers Camera Club will host a hands-on program. “Getting To Know Your Camera” will feature an open discussion on photography tips and tricks, and improving photographs with one's own camera.

  • Camera Club To Host Competition, Hands On Program

    On Thursday, January 15, Flagpole Photographers Camera Club will host its first general meeting and photo competition of the new year.

    January’s assigned subject is “Animals (non-domesticated).” Club members will be challenged to showcase their creativity for capturing animal photography. There will also be competitions in Digital, Black & White and Open Color.

  • Local Camera Club To Host New England Competition

    Flagpole Photographers Camera Club will sponsor its first New England Camera Club Council (NECCC) Fall Competition for Digital Projected Images on Thursday, November 20, at C.H. Booth Library.

    NECCC is made up of over 80 camera clubs located in Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Vermont. The club hosts a series of interclub competitions in the fall, winter and spring.

  • Flagpole Photographers Exhibition, Program Updates

    Flagpole Photographers Camera Club is continuing to showcase its Fifth Annual “Newtown And Beyond” Photo Exhibit at Newtown Municipal Center. On view at 3 Primrose Street, within the Fairfield Hills campus, the exhibit showcases over 100 photos by members of the Flagpole Photographers Camera Club.
