• Thanks To Masonicare

    To the Editor:

A warm thank you goes out to all at Masonicare of Newtown for sponsoring a picnic for our seniors.

On Friday September 18, over 60 seniors from the Senior Center and Nunnawauk Meadows  enjoyed an afternoon with new and old friends socializing and dancing under a tent provided by Masonicare on Toddy Hill Road.

From Carl,  Audrey, the Chef, DJ and all the Masonicare staff who went out of their way to make this day a very special one... on behalf of the seniors I thank you!

  • The Top of the Mountain

SUNY Oneonta students created hundreds of hearts on Saturday, November 1, which will be hung throughout Newtown next month. December marks the second anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy, and SUNY students hope their gifts will be seen as gestures of caring and support, from one community to another.

  • Masonicare, Senior Center To Co-Host Grief Forum

The tragedy that occurred on 12/14 has left many shaken and sad, and empathy and sympathy is deeply felt within the community. Although some may or may not be affected personally, grief can be both personal and communal.

Newtown Senior Center and Masonicare Home Health & Hospice have joined together to help the community learn about grief and understand the healing process after suffering a loss. The forum will be held on Thursday, March 21, at 9:30 am, in the Lodge Room at Lockwood Lodge at Masonicare at Newtown, 139 Toddy Hill Road.
