  • Chinese Delegation Welcomed In Newtown

    A delegation of 31 students and ten educators from Liaocheng, China, were recently welcomed at Newtown schools. The group was in town for a ten-day visit. 

  • March NICE Night Set: "Ratatouille" & Cookie Decorating, March 6

    The Newtown International Center for Education (NICE) has set the date for its fifth NICE Night of the 2012-13 academic year.

    The Wednesday, March 6, NICE Night, a free community event, will include the showing of Disney Pixar’s Ratatouille, rated G. The movie is about a rat, named Remy, who is determined to become a renowned French chef in Paris.

    A cookie decorating lesson will be offered at 4:30 pm in the NHS cafetorium, and eventgoers are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner to eat at the event. The movie will be shown at 5.

  • NICE To Welcome Visitors This Week

    A scheduled visit from Chinese educators from Newtown’s sister schools in Liaocheng, China, for February 15 to 24 has Newtown International Center for Education (NICE) Program Coordinator and Newtown High School Assistant Principal Jason Hiruo reflecting on the history of the sister school relationships.
