  • The Top of the Mountain

    So what was the scariest part of the past week? Halloween or Election Day?

    Hard to believe we are just now getting a photo of this dashing couple of Pumpkin Race Decorating judges.  Judges Justin Scott and Amber Edwards were dressed the part at the Lions Club annual Pumpkin Races, Saturday, October 17. One look at them, and participants knew their efforts would be taken seriously. One more look, and I’m sure their stellar careers took yet another leap up the ladder.

  • Annual Flagpole Photographers ‘Newtown & Beyond’ Photo Exhibition Opens November 2

    The Flagpole Photographers Camera Club will be offering an exhibit of  some of the best work of its members during the month of November at Newtown Municipal Center. In this 6th Annual “Newtown & Beyond” Exhibit, many photos of Newtown will be featured, but there will also be photos taken across the country and around the world. Most of the photographs on display will be available for purchase.

  • Flagpole Photographers To Start New Season At Arts Festival

    “Enders Falls” by Darrell Harrington won the Dave Kriger Nature Award during the Flagpole Photographers Camera Club 2015 Annual Competition. The club will participate September 19-20 in Newtown Arts Festival, and will then host its first meeting-competition on September 24 at a new meeting location.

  • Portrait Photography With Unique Subjects, March 7 With Flagpole Photographers

    On Thursday March 7, at 7:30 pm, Flagpole Photographers Camera Club is offering a portrait photography workshop with unique subjects. 

    The workshop will be offered at Newtown United Methodist Church.

    Members of the 501st Connecticut Garrison will be posing. This is an organization whose members appear in Star Wars costumes including Storm Troopers, Darth Vader, Tuscan Raiders, and Jedi Knights.

    The public is invited to bring their cameras; studio set ups and lighting will be provided. Donations will be accepted for the Newtown Police Union Fund.
