  • Vendor Fair To Benefit NHS Winter Guard, Saturday In Sandy Hook

    With the marching band season now ended, the Newtown Winter Guard program is gearing up for an exciting season. Currently 49 students in grades 5-12 are registered in the program. With the cost of attending the World Guard International Championships increasing to $900 per student on top of the season fees of $825 per person, The Varsity team is set for a season of fundraising, as the cost of the entire program is funded by the individual families who participate, with the exception of school buses used for local competitions.

  • Winter Guard To Collect Bottles And Cans For Fundraiser, Saturday Morning

    The Newtown Varsity Winter Guard will hold their final Bottle and Can Drive of the season on Saturday, March 9, from 10 am until noon, at three locations: Newtown High School, Newtown Middle School and Reed Intermediate School.
     
    Proceeds will help fund the guard's trip to Dayton Ohio for the Winter Guard International Championships in April.
