Ruth Turney

Ruth Anderson Turney, 87, died at home in Lawrence, Kan., October 9. She was born in New Bedford, Mass., November 27, 1928, the daughter of Clara Polson Anderson and Charles W. Anderson.

She graduated from New Bedford High School and from Brown University in the Class of 1949. She moved to New York City to work in the trust department of Morgan Guaranty Trust, and where she married Austin H. Turney. They subsequently moved to Danbury and then to Bethel.

She and her husband were active members of Trinity Episcopal Church in Newtown and of the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut.

Mrs Turney was an active volunteer with Planned Parenthood. Later she earned an MA in English literature from Western Connecticut State University and an MLS from Southern Connecticut State University. She worked for the Ferguson Library in Stamford. Mrs Turney and her husband retired to Lawrence.

Her husband and son, Austin C. Turney, survive her.
