Polly Louise Bogue

Polly Louise Bogue, 61, of Charlottesville., Va, died on September 8 at her home, with her loving husband and family by her side. She was born October 30, 1954, in Bridgeport, and was a daughter of Marian Davis and A. Robert Galla.

Her husband, Jeffrey Bogue of Charlottesville; her sister, Jill Lawlor of Newtown; her brother, Andrew Galla of Stratford; nieces and nephews; as well as great-nieces and -nephews survive her. She is also survived by her loyal and beloved dog. Her brother, Michael Galla, predeceased her.

Ms Bogue graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with a degree in education. She was one of the first members of the Spanish Honor Society, Sigma Delta Pi. She devoted her teaching career to the Stratford school system, where she taught, encouraged, and befriended a countless number of elementary students as they began their journey through life. Ms Bogue retired in 2009 and moved to Charlottesville with her husband, where she continued to pursue her passions. She was a member of the First Tuesday Quilters Guild and co-president of the Ivy Creek Methodist Church women's group, Sarah Circle.

Special thanks to Ms Bogue's lifelong friend Jill Gauthier, along with her grade partners Rana Coury-Raymond, Sally Metzger, Mary Ann Seperack, and Vera Wilcoxsin.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, September 30, at Pistey Funeral Home in Stratford. Burial will be held at noon on October 1, at the Rensselaerville Cemetery in Rensselaerville, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Hartford Hospital Kidney Transplant Program, 85 Seymour Street, Suite 320, Hartford CT 06106, Attn: Carolyn Martindale.
