Town offices will mark the sixth anniversary of 12/14 with a period of silence on Friday.

All municipal offices, departments, and agencies will be closed on December 14 from 9:30 until 9:45 am for a brief period of silence and reflection in honor and remembrance.

A memo that will be posted at Town buildings will invite the public to “join in this brief respite to honor those who were lost on that day.”

Town offices will be available again at 9:45, according to First Selectman Daniel C. Rosenthal.

Local houses of worship and The Resiliency Center of Newtown have announced open hours for reflection during the day. An interfaith service is planned for Friday evening.
