Patricia A. Benkovich, 67, of Sandy Hook, died December 22, at Danbury Hospital. She was the wife of Andrew Benkovich. She was born in Manchester, Conn., May 24, 1946, a daughter of Carl and Esther (Pitkin) Schwarz.
Fritzi Walkey Klopfenstein, 98, died December 16, at Churchman Village retirement home in Newark, Del. The daughter of Dr Fred L. Walkey and Mable Kintzley Walkey, she was born on Groundhog Day, February 2, 1915, in West Lafayette, Ind.
ohn C. Doty, 57, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of 22 years to Doreen Valacka Doty, died peacefully December 14. Born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., he was the son of the late Shirley Annis and John Charles Doty, Jr.
Gladys Emma Phillips, 94, of Roseland, Fla., died December 7, at Sebastian River Medical Center. She was born in Waterbury, resided in New Haven, and then moved to the lakeside community of Shady Rest in Sandy Hook.
Walter “Walt” John Castings, 64, of Woodbury, died December 9, at St Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury, with his loving wife Katie Coad by his side. He was born in Pawtucket, R.I., November 29, 1949, and was the son of the late Donald and Norma (Ware) Castings.
Ilene Ethel (Beck) Iassogna, 75, beloved wife and best friend of Joseph B. Iassogna for 53 years, died peacefully in the company of her family, at Keepsake Village - The Hearth in Southbury, December 27, ending her courageous nine-year battle with multiple myeloma and 12 years of Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in New Brunswick, N.J. and was raised by her parents, G. Paul and Ethel (Nagy) Beck, in Highland Park, N.J.
