Newtown Schools’ Spring Concert Dates

As announced by the Newtown Public Schools Music Department this week, the following are the performance dates for the Spring 2011 school music concerts.

On May 3, Newtown Middle School will open its doors at 6 pm for the school’s annual Celebration of the Arts.

Sandy Hook School’s chorus concert will be held on May 10 at Newtown High School starting at 7 pm.

Reed Intermediate School’s Night of Jazz will start at 7 pm on May 11 at the intermediate school.

Newtown High School’s Black Box Theater Production, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, is set to go on at 7 pm from May 12 through 15 at the high school.

On May 17, Middle Gate Elementary School’s chorus concert is set to begin at 7:30 pm at Reed Intermediate School.

Hawley School’s chorus concert is also scheduled for May 17, but will start at 7 pm at Hawley.

Newtown Middle School’s seventh grade concert is set for its performance on May 18, starting at 7 pm at Newtown High School.

On May 19, the Newtown Middle School eighth grade concert will start at 7 pm, also at the high school.

Head O’ Meadow’s chorus concert is set to perform on May 23 starting at 7 pm at the elementary school.

The Newtown High School band will perform on May 24 at 7 pm at the high school, the high school chorus is set to perform at 7 pm on May 25, and the high school orchestra is scheduled for its concert on May 26.

Reed Intermediate School’s sixth grade band will start the Newtown Public Schools June music concerts with performances on June 1 at 7 pm and 8 pm at the intermediate school.

Reed’s fifth grade band will take the stage on June 2, with performances at 7 pm and 8 pm.

Sandy Hook School’s third grade chorus will perform at the elementary school on June 3 at 7 pm.

And Reed’s fifth grade global music/orchestra concert is set for June 6 at 7 pm at the intermediate school.
