Participants gathered in front of the NYA Sports & Fitness Center for Newtown's annual CROP Hunger Walk on Sunday, October 16.crophungerwalk.org.

The charity event brought community members of all ages together to help end worldwide hunger by raising money and awareness. CROP Hunger Walks are sponsored by Church World Service and organized by local houses of worship.

All donations made will be going directly toward hunger-fighting programs, with 75 percent of profits helping causes worldwide and 25 percent going to local programs. Donations can still be made by visiting
