The Middle Gate Elementary School PTA's Trunk or Treat event will be held this Saturday, October 29, at Reed Intermediate School, 3 Trades Lane, from 2 to 5 pm. Setup for cars in the parking lot will begin at 1 pm. The event was originally set for Saturday, October 22, but it was postponed due to inclement weather.

Middle Gate PTA President Debbie DeBlasi said on Monday, October 24, even more people are expected to decorate cars for the postponed event.

"We have almost 200 kids signed up," said Ms DeBlasi.

The event is open to the public with preregistration, which was due by October 15.

The event will include a costume parade, and a haunted house. Prizes for best costume and best decorated car will be awarded.

Last year's Trunk or Treat had roughly 30 decorated cars, and about 150 students participated by dressing in costume and stopping by each vehicle to snag some candy.

"Remember to bring your trick or treat bag," said Ms DeBlasi, adding that extra bags will be available for students who do not bring one with them.

Spots for participating cars were limited. Residents could sign up to enter a decorated car for the Trunk or Treat event for $5, and everyone with a car will receive two wristbands for participants. Wristbands for participants, children 12 years old and younger only, were $5.

More information about the event is available by e-mailing MGtrunkortreat@gmail.com.
