Improv Coming To Bridgeport Stage

BRIDGEPORT — Playhouse on the Green is joining with New Haven Theater Company to brings its unique improv comedy show, The Funny Stages, to Bridgeport for three shows this spring.

The Funny Stages will be offered at the theater, 177 State Street, on Sundays, March 15, April 5 and May 3. Performances will be at 7 pm.

Director Peter Chenot leads the troupe of comedians in audience favorites “This Just In: You Choose the News, We Make it Up,” “America’s Next Great American Super Hero,” “CSI: Crime Scene Improvisation” and “Musical: The Improv” as well as short videos that will to play at the shows and online.

Admission is $10, cash only at the door. Playhouse on the Green’s bar will be open at each performance starting at 6:30.

Playhouse on the Green is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit theater company bringing “community theater with a twist” to Connecticut audiences at its 228-seat jewel-box theater in the heart of downtown Bridgeport. The theater’s mission is to enrich Bridgeport’s cultural life by providing an eclectic variety of live stage entertainment and arts education programs at an affordable cost, as well as providing opportunities for area artists.

New Haven Theater Company (NHTC) is a revolutionary collective bringing the power and excitement of living performance to the New Haven community. NHTC seeks to reinvigorate, redefine and reconnect theater for audiences neglected or alienated by the traditional theater establishment.
