Charles J. Ruggiero, Jr, 50, of Watertown died September 27 after a long battle with cancer.

Chuck, as he was known, was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees, was a loving husband and caring stepfather. He worked as a custodian at Newtown High School among a dedicated crew of friends and colleagues.

He leaves behind his wife, Maria Ruggiero, stepdaughter Nicole Quarles, sister Jennie Hayes, and a large family of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A graveside service will be held at the Newtown Village Cemetery, Elm Drive, Newtown, on Thursday, September 29, at 3 pm.
