To the Editor:

Chris Gardner is running for reelection for the Legislative Council in District 1, and I strongly encourage everyone of all political leanings to vote for him.

Chris is truly one of the most dedicated public servants in town. In addition to being on the Legislative Council, he served on the Board of Finance, he’s Senior Burgess in The Borough and served on that Board for many years, and notably has been Keeper of the Flagpole for seven years. He is one of the hardest working people I know and he is thoughtful and kind and honest.

Chris grew up in Newtown, and he enjoys volunteering and giving back to the community he loves. He’s committed to supporting our schools and to keeping the town’s finances strong, and he has demonstrated that throughout his time in town government. I’ve seen him at work in those roles, and he consistently keeps an open mind and works with all Board and Council members to do the right thing for the town.

I cannot think of a better person to recommend for this or any office. Newtown is lucky to have him and I encourage everyone to get out and vote and if you live in District 1 please vote row A and vote for Chris Gardner and return him to the Legislative Council.
