To the Editor:

It’s all well and good for a politician to show up for a photo op after all the work is done. Rob Blanchard is different; he’s the one who will be doing the work!

Rob knows how to get things done in Hartford: he has worked for the Attorney General’s office and for Governor Lamont, and is Chief of Staff for the Comptroller. He knows that moving our communities forward requires more than a smile; it requires hard work, energy and creativity. That’s why I’m voting for Rob Blanchard for State Senator.

Do you worry about the increased costs of your utilities, healthcare and childcare? Rob does.

Do you worry that businesses are being squeezed, and that we don’t have an educated and trained workforce? Rob does.

Do you worry about safety from gun violence? Rob does.

Do you worry about whether women will be able to make their own decisions about their bodies, and can access IVF if needed? Rob does.

Do you worry about whether we can keep Newtown green and beautiful? Rob does.

Rob was raised in a middle class family who instilled in him a commitment to serving the community. He knows what it’s like to struggle, & has been working to find ways to make Connecticut more affordable.

It’s time Newtown had a Senator who is ready to serve, and to do the hard work required to make our government work for us. It’s time Newtown had some real representation in Hartford. It’s time Newtown had Rob Blanchard as our State Senator.

I agree, being our state rep means more than publicity shots, it means getting deeply involved in serving our interest. Rob is a democrat who can get things done in Hartford. Its time Newtown had a representative who can advance our interest in Hartford. Its time for us to be represented from the inside out, not from the minority party.
