Registration for the upcoming school year has opened at Congregation Adath Israel of Newtown. All youth enrollments ranging from kindergartners to students starting fifth grade are invited to join CAI’s vibrant and inclusive community.

The emphasis in its education program focuses on age-appropriate active learning through hands-on activities and games that cover a wide range of creative as well as experiential learning topics including Hebrew, Jewish history, holidays and services. Curriculum also includes STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) projects along with an introduction to Tikkun Olam (promoting kindness throughout our communities and the world we live in), an important part of Jewish culture.

The school calendar will begin Sunday, September 8, for all grades.

Children enrolled in the Pre-school/Pre-K program will meet once a month on Sunday mornings from 9:30 to 10:30 am with parental participation. In addition, a Tot Shabbat program will take place one Friday evening per month from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.

Students in grades Kindergarten through third grade will meet twice a month on Sunday mornings, 9:30-11:45 am. Younger students are also invited to attend the Tot Shabbat that will meet one Friday evening per month, 6:30-7:30 pm.

Youth enrolled in grades 4-7 will meet twice a month on Sunday mornings, 9:30-11:45 am, in addition to one day every week, after school from September through May. Day and time to be determined.

Congregation Adath Israel will not refuse membership or schooling due to financial hardship. Individual situations are considered and should be discussed with the Treasurer.
