Tickets are on sale for Real Food CT’s 4th Annual Seed to Plate Fundraising Event, scheduled for Friday, August 9, from 6-9 pm, at NewSylum Brewing Company, 43 Keating Farms Avenue.

The annual event is truly a celebration of the local harvest, featuring the bounty of local farms creatively served on small plates by renowned chefs Steve Forgione (Phinney’s), Pam Buchler (Aquarian Caterers), Matt Kirshner (Uncle Matt’s), and Genee Habansky (Herbaceous Catering).

Dan Tressler and Amber Anchor will return to perform bluegrass music.

This year’s event will also feature a silent auction with offerings from generous area restaurants and businesses such as The Farmhouse, BD Provisions, and a host of others.

Real Food CT was founded in 2019 on the belief that everyone deserves access to healthy food. Produce is raised in two Newtown giving gardens and delivered to food pantries throughout the area. Over 15 tons of food was shared in 2023 alone.

Each year, a group of young farm interns is educated in regenerative farming practices. This summer, RFCT is starting a food hub which will purchase produce from its farm network to serve vulnerable populations, hospitals, and schools.
