St Rose Students At State Invention Convention

Twelve St Rose of Lima School students from grades 4-7, who won both the school and regional Invention Convention, traveled to University of Connecticut for the state competition on Saturday, June 8.

Several of those students received awards for their inventions. Fifth grader Anthony Kari received the Push for Entrepreneurship Award in Sports and Fitness for his “Two-in-One Swimmer’s Cap.” Seventh grader Haley Ventresca received the Pfizer Health and Safety Award for her “Handi-Helper.”

Seventh grader Connor Flynn was recognized again for his “Safe-Twist” invention, which was previously recognized by Connecticut Academy of Science & Engineering (CASE). Flynn also received a special Congressional recognition for it.

The twelve St Rose students, who competed with their inventions at the State level, included: Fourth graders Carter Bruzzi and AJ Singer with “Air Out,” fourth grader Estelle LaChance with “Healing Lollipop,” fifth graders Alexandra Anzalone and Sarah Duras “Kids Candle,” fifth grader Kari with “Two-in-One Swimmer’s Cap,” sixth grader Reese Sirois with “Happy Habitat,” seventh grader Noorshivan Bhagania with “Biker Blinker Gloves,” seventh grader Flynn with “Safe-Twist,” seventh grader Jaclyn Gelson with “The Ski Pole Buddy,” seventh grader Joseph Monckton with “Desk Buddy (Deskside Supply Organizer),” and seventh grader Ventresca with “Handi-Helper.”
