Woman's Club Installs Officers

Newtown Woman's Club recently held the installation ceremony for the 2016-17 club year.

The following will serve during the upcoming year: Co-Presidents, Millie Anderson and Nancy Kennedy; First Vice President, Pat Bailey; Second Vice President, Evelyn Watts; Co-Recording Secretaries, Dolores Judge and Joyce Webster; Corresponding Secretary, Pat McCarthy; Treasurer, Layne Lescault; Assistant Treasurer, Peg Forbell; and Historian, Marilyn Alexander.

In addition to the installation, the club celebrated longtime club member Dorothea LaBelle's 95th birthday.

For 45 years, Newtown Woman's Club, GFWC has been a part of the community, providing volunteer service as a member of both the Greater Federation of Women's Clubs of Connecticut and the General Federation of Women's Clubs. Any woman who is interested in community service is invited to join.

The club schedules a luncheon meeting on the third Thursday of each month, September through May.
