It is 1946. Twenty-one-year-old Timmy Cleary returns from World War II to his boyhood home in the Bronx⦠and to his estranged parents, John and Nettie.
Quickly, old wounds are opened. Husband and wife squabble. Timmy has outgrown his motherâs doting ways. Johnâs attempts to overcome years of neglect with his son prove to be a stormy path. Finally, Timmy must make a fateful decision that will impact the destinies of all three strangersâ lives.
Auditions will be held at The Sherman Playhouse, 5 Route 39 North (next to the fire station) in Sherman, on Sunday and Monday, January 29-30. They will run from 7 to 9 pm.Â
The Subject Was Roses is under the direction of Tom Libonate of Danbury. Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script. All roles are available and professionals and amateurs are welcome. No appointments are necessary.
