WILTON, CONN. — As I write this, snow is falling outside, our driveway is impassible and though we have had a very mild winter, we long for spring!  I expect that Sunday, March 30 will be a fine spring day!

For three decades, the Historical Society Antiques Show was a two-day show.  Now, though we are no longer able to use the Field House for an extra day, we spare no expense in presenting the show, nor do the dealers change the quality of their goods and how they display — it looks just like a show of three or four days.  So, please don’t discount us as just a casual pick-up Sunday show.  The quality of the folk art, fine art, ceramics and eclectic antiques and furniture is great and at affordable prices, too.

When you come to Wilton, we offer more than just the show, also.  You may be among the first to preview a new exhibition at the Wilton Heritage Museum:  “Four Wilton Artists, Remembered.” More than 100 sculptures and paintings by Henry G. Thomson, Solon H. Berglund, Carl Schmitt and A. Phimister Proctor will be on view.  The preview of this outstanding exhibition on Sunday will be from 11 am to 3 pm at the Heritage Museum, 224 Danbury Road.

Early buyers on Sunday will be served a delicious brunch of quiche, fresh fruit salad and homemade coffee breads by our volunteers between 9 am and 11 am.  There will also be a $200 gift certificate for early buyers at 10 am.  This certificate may be used in an exhibitor’s booth.

For those visitors who may wish to travel to Wilton on Saturday, call me at 203-762-7257 for information about reduced rates at the local hotels and restaurant discounts as well.

I hope to welcome you to Wilton.

Marilyn Gould, Director & Show Manager
