To the Editor:

I would like to thank the public for coming out to support the volunteer firefighters of Newtown for the 16th year in a row at the Fill the Fire Truck Food Drive. We collected over $1,600 in cash and gift cards, 55 turkeys, and 113 boxes of food. We really appreciate the support in helping to fill the FAITH Food Pantry's shelves this time of year.

I would also like to thank Big Y and Stop & Shop for allowing us to collect in front of their stores. We couldn't have done it without the support of Curtis Packaging and their donation of boxes.

I thank all of my fellow firefighters and ladies auxiliary for your support and look forward to seeing everyone next year.
