To the Editor:
Not only have I had the great pleasure of knowing Debbie Aurelia Halstead on a personal level, I’ve also known her on a professional level, as she has held a vital position within the community for the past 12 years.
It takes a particular individual with leadership skills and dedication to do the work that Debbie does on a day-to-day basis. Year after year, Debbie leads by example.
She plays an active role, not only as the current town clerk, but is also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire Company. In addition, Debbie donates her time and supports local causes, including fundraising for the Connecticut Burn Center at Bridgeport Hospital. She takes pride in her numerous roles within the community and always strives to do more.
Being a former Newtown resident myself, for 46 years, I know firsthand that Newtown prides itself on being a community that invests in those who hold the community’s interest first. Debbie has shown nothing but loyalty and care for our town. Hold true to Newtown’s values and support Debbie Aurelia Halstead for town clerk in the Republican Primary on September 12.
