On the volleyball court, the Newtown High School girls' spikers defeated host Notre Dame-Fairfield 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-13) on September 22 and host New Milford 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-18) on September 25. With the wins, the Nighthawks improved to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in South-West Conference play.

In the win over Notre Dame, Kim Buttery had six aces and five digs, Rachel O'Grady had six aces and four digs, and Erin Burns had three kills and two blocks.

Against New Milford, Zoe Beals had five aces and six kills, Burns recorded six kills and four blocks, and Buttery logged five aces and 20 assists.
