Newtown High School's boys' volleyball team was defeated 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-15) by host Danbury on April 28, then defeated visiting Kolbe Cathedral of Bridgeport 3-0 (25-15, 25-9, 25-17) on May 1. The Hawks were competitive in a match with visiting and unbeaten Cheshire, but fell 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 29-27) on May 3. Newtown's record is 5-6.

The Nighthawks have had some tough nonconference matches. Cheshire is 11-0 and Darien, which defeated Newtown in three games on April 24, is now 13-0.

In the Danbury match, Silas Decker had three kills and two blocks, and Ardi Kodzodziku had two kills and one block.

Against Kolbe, Kodzodziku racked up nine kills and an ace, Decker compiled six 6 kills, two aces, and a block, and Robbie Morrill added three kills, an ace, and a block.

In the Cheshire match, Kodzodziku had eight kills, three aces, and one block; Fletcher had eight kills, one block, and ten digs; and Nick Lansing had 13 assists, one kill, and three digs.
