Therapeutic Touch Workshop Offered At Griffin Hospital

DERBY — On Friday, June 13, Griffin Hospital will offer a basic level therapeutic touch workshop from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm. The workshop will explain the basic concepts of therapeutic touch and provide time for hands-on practice.

There are no prerequisites to attend the workshop and it is open to the public, but 12 contact hour continuing education units will be awarded to all registered nurses who attend.

Therapeutic touch is an energy healing modality that is derived from the ancient practice of laying on of hands. Therapeutic touch has been taught to thousands of health care professionals and can help reduce pain and anxiety, as well as increase healing time and overall feeling of well-being.

The instructor, Holly Major, MSN, ANP-BC, QTTT, is the therapeutic touch coordinator at Griffin Hospital and a qualified therapeutic touch instructor through Nurse Healers-Professional Associates International, the official organization of therapeutic touch. She has been teaching therapeutic touch since 2000.

Register online at www.griffinhealth.org/events/tt.htm, by phone at 203-732-1297 or by emailing hmajor@griffinhealth.org. Workshop fee is $100. Register early as class size is limited.
