Thelma Robb

Thelma Robb, 86, died peacefully December 29 at the Maplewood Senior Living facility in Newtown. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on March 19, 1927, she was the daughter of Clara and Tideman "Tom" Olsen.

She worked as a legal secretary until her wedding in 1962. She wed Jack Robb of Sandy Hook and they raised their family in Freeport, L.I., N.Y., where they resided for 47 years.

Mrs Robb enjoyed singing and traveling. She took singing lessons, both classical and operatic, and sang at several of her friends’ weddings. Her traveling consisted of trips to many parts of Europe, Hawaii, and Norway, her parents’ birthplace.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years; her two loving daughters, Beverly Robb Kovachik, and husband Andy, of Monroe and Susan Robb Shank, and her husband Garry, of Rockville, Md. She also leaves five much-loved grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Gilbert.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Maplewood Senior Living for the kindness and compassion they have shown over the last few years.

Friends are invited to attend calling hours Thursday, January 2, from 4 to 7 pm, at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. A private interment will follow at Pinelawn Cemetery in Long Island, N.Y.
