Suzanne J. Simone, 34, of Carmel, N.Y., previously of Newtown, died unexpectedly February 26. She was born May 13, 1982, a daughter of Steve and Fran (Reheuser) Simone of Middlebury and Sandy Michaud of Stafford Springs.

Ms Simone attended Head O' Meadow School, Newtown Middle School, and graduated from Wooster School in Danbury. She was a courageous Hodgkin's lymphoma survivor and bone marrow recipient.

In addition to her parents, her beloved daughter, Jennifer Altschul; her brother Rob of Middlebury; her grandparents, Pat and Selma Simone of Purchase, N.Y.; her cat, her Aunt Mary, Aunt Barbara, Uncle Hal, and her cousins Barb, Johnny, Jimmy, and their families survive her.

She had many friends from Wooster, Emmaus, Ann's Place, cancer and transplant groups, including Molly, Misty, Kat, and Conroy. Courage and compassion filled her life even under life-threatening, chronic illnesses. Thanks to her aides, especially Marge and Tasha, and her doctors who saved her life countless times: Tausef Ahmed, Delong Liu, Jeffery Beechert, Jeffery Fekete, and Warren Rosenblum.

Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street in Newtown, on Thursday, March 2, from 5 until 8 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown, on Friday, March 3, at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Newtown Village Cemetery, 22 Elm Drive, Newtown.
