Summer Movie Night Going On As Planned

Newtown Parks & Recreation is planning to present the second program in the 5th Annual Claris Construction Inc Summer Jam Children's Concert Series, a movie night planned for Tuesday, June 27, at Fairfield Hills. The Newtown Bee with the decision early Tuesday afternoon.Sing.E.T.

Tuesday evening's program will begin with a 7:30 performance by three-time Grammy Award nominee Brady Rymer, followed by a screening of the animated feature

Tuesday's will be the first of two movie nights for the current concert season. They are being presented in the soccer field Fairfield Hills, off Keating Farm Avenue.

Attendees should bring their own seating. Picnics are welcome; guests should plan to carry out their own trash.

Following a break next week for Independence Day, the Summer Jam Concert Series will resume on July 11, at Dickinson Park, with a performance by Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem.

"Indie pop for all ages" will be offered July 18 by Tim Kubart; Alex Mitnick and Kaleidoscope will perform July 25; and Joanie Leeds and the Nightlights will perform August 1.

Concert nights will begin at 6 pm, with performances at Dickinson Memorial Park, 50 Elm Drive.

The 2017 season will conclude August 8 with a return to Fairfield Hills for a hip hop dance party led by DJ with Austin Dailey, and then an outdoor screening of the 1982 blockbuster
