State Nurse Training Program Being Revived
HARTFORD (AP) â A popular state-subsidized nurse training program in Connecticut that fell victim to budget cuts is being revived.
The state Department of Education has reinstated the program, but tuition will more than double for its participants.
Classes for the licensed practical nurse adult education program were suspended last year. They resumed January 20 at state technical high schools in Hartford, Middletown, Waterbury, Hamden, Norwich, and Bridgeport.
The state is setting aside $1.2 million to help subsidize the classes, which will now cost students about $10,200 â more than double the original tuition of $4,850.
