Spikers Cruise To Fourth Straight Win

Newtown High School's girls' volleyball team posted its fourth straight win with a 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-8) triumph over visiting Masuk of Monroe, on September 26. The Nighthawks, coming off a 3-0 win at New Fairfield on September 23, improved to 4-3 overall (4-0 in South-West Conference play).

Rachel O'Grady had six kills, three aces, and 13 digs; Kaitlyn Schneider had five aces, four kills, and seven digs; Molly McCoy had six aces, racked up 33 assists, and added four digs; Zoe Beals, Erin Burns, and Sarah Dowling compiled nine, seven, and six kills, respectively. Tessa Leon-Gambetta and Tess Mubarek recorded 12 and nine digs, respectively.

The Nighthawks will look to keep things rolling on Wednesday, September 28, when Brookfield visits for a 6:30 pm contest.
