Soccer Teams Blank Green Wave

Newtown High School's girls' and boys' soccer teams both earned shutout victories over New Milford on September 29.The Bee.

The girls went on the road and posted a 5-0 whitewashing and the boys in a 4-0 blanking of the Green Wave at Blue & Gold Stadium.

Karsen Pirone scored twice, and Emma Curtis, Sydney Howard, and Grace Corcoran all hit the back of the net to help the girls' squad remain unbeaten at 8-0-1.For the boys, Tom Skrelja, Adam Farley, Mike Meyer, and Jack Oltran all scored for Coach Brian Neumeyer's 200th career win in South-West Conference play. Newtown handed New Milford its first loss in eight games to begin the year, and is unbeaten in four straight games, pushing its record to 3-2-3 this campaign.
