Soccer Night in Newtown, a special event scheduled for Friday, May 6, at Newtown High School's Blue & Gold Stadium, is being postponed.The event was to be a doubleheader pitting The New York Cosmos B team and West Chester United Soccer Club, followed by Newtown Pride FC taking on Reading United AC.  Proceeds from ticket sales for this third annual event would raise funds for Newtown Youth & Family Services peer-to-peer mentoring programs in the Newtown community.

"Because of the unpredictability of Friday's weather and teams traveling from Pennsylvania and New York, we have postponed Soccer Night in Newtown to a TBD date," Kyle G. Lyddy, one of the event organizers, announced May 5.

"We will work with the teams on commonalities of openings and get a new date published as quickly as possible," Mr Lyddy added.
